Tech-problems are no big deal when made better by eye-wateringly delicious desserts

Well, I have finished classes for the week and now I only have my internship tomorrow morning between me and my two-week Winter Vacation.  Today I tried to print off my hotel reservations and other confirmation related paperwork, but the macs at the bureau decided that the unzipped files on my flashdrive were in fact zipped, even though I had never zipped them and the day before they had been unzipped on the same device plugged into the same computer.  Furthermore, as I did not have administrator access to the computers, I could not open my own files.  Plugging the drive back into my windows laptop, I confirmed what I had suspected: my files were unzipped and that Apple is out to get me for blaspheming against Steve Jobs.  I will try again tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, I will be going to see a Tchaikovsky concert at the opera house in the Corum with my host brother.  So I am looking forward to that.  In the span of time between my internship and that, I will be packing everything that I will need to take on my vacation with me.  My first stop is Paris, so look for some more interesting blog posts to come that are more than just my inane drivel about quotidian Nick.

I do have to add that tonight’s dinner was amazing.  We were joined by my host-sister Marie again and her boyfriend and my other host-sister’s boyfriend.  We had a great sausage/cabbage/vegetable dish for the main course.  For dessert, we had a deliciousness-threshold-shattering dish that was a combination of dark-chocolate truffle and macaroons swimming in a cream.  I almost started weeping for joy upon my first taste.
