The weather was beautiful today, warm and sunny. After my morning class and lunch, I passed
the early part of the afternoon before my other class on a picnic table on
campus doing a bit of light work. I
reorganized the playlists for my upcoming radio shows and wrote an introduction
to one of them. After that I read Le Monde from yesterday. There were some very interesting articles in
the newspaper that related to my thesis that I will be writing next fall. In my afternoon class, I learned that if I am
content with the grade on the paper that I wrote earlier this semester, then I
will not have to take the final exam. Unfortunately,
I will not learn that grade until the day before the exam, so it looks like I will
be studying for it regardless. Tonight I
will be writing the next episode of my radio program, about the evolutions in
Irish music since the 1980s. I’ll be
talking about the Pogues and the Young Dubliners, as well as the pop sounds of
U2 and Van Morrison and the heavy metal of Thin Lizzy. It should make for good listening.
